Batfish are known as a species that appears to walk on its limbs, using pelvic fins as hands to creep along the sea bed.
The creatures, closely related to the frogfish, have been captured crawling slowly on ‘all fours’ before.
They generally do not grow larger than 14 inches, and when they are threatened they bury themselves into the sand.
One of the puzzled fisherman uploaded footage of the catch to LiveLeak.
